ASHRAE members aren’t looking for data or information – they want focused solutions for the design and implementation challenges they face.  A new tool to find those solutions easier and quicker is now available from ASHRAE. The Society has launched a fully redesigned online bookstore on ASHRAE.org to help fulfill a fundamental mission of ASHRAE publications to disseminate the collective wisdom of this industry’s best and brightest.

“When I first became chair of Publishing/Education Council, people came to me and said, ‘Jim you need to do something about our online bookstore – it’s an embarrassment,” Jim Fields said. “One engineering professor told me that it was, ‘so bad that it was easier to go to Amazon for ASHRAE publications than to buy ASHRAE publications direct.’  When I went to our publishing director Steve Comstock and asked him about it he told me that ‘it was not very good’ and that ‘it was probably costing ASHRAE missed sales opportunities.'

"At this point I made it the one thing that absolutely had to be done while I was chair—we had to have a new online bookstore. So with a lot of support, from a lot of great volunteers along with ASHRAE staff and the professionals at Techstreet, we now have a premier online bookstore, ready to better serve our members, improve our publications sales and show the world that ASHRAE means business.”
